Virginia Beach Comic Thirty Two: Save the Manatees, Go To A Festival

What's up everyone, here is another Virginia Beach comic I made and this one will be the last for the year and I plan to make more again next year. In this comic, Lendy and Akiko are finished with a soccer game at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex with Lendy believing that her and Akiko will get along better with the soccer team they're in. Pungo asks both Lendy and Akiko if they wanted to come to Jerk Fest in the upcoming weekend and The Pirate Guy finds out that manatees have been spotted in the ocean. Here is the dialog below:
Lendy: Look Akiko, I know that I have been mean and selfish to you, but I really think we'll get along better on our soccer team.
Pungo: Are you two ladies interested coming to Jerk Fest this weekend?
Lendy: Sure I would love to come to Jerk Fest this weekend, are you planning to go Akiko?
Akiko: Sure, experiencing Caribbean culture sounds like fun.
The Pirate Guy: Maties! I just read the news and people have spotted manatees.
Akiko: Matsu? Did you say manatees Kaizoku Gai? I better get my harpoons and head to the ocean.
Lendy: Akiko really? Why would you harpoon a vulnerable species like manatees? Why do we have to be on the same team?
Akiko: Sate Sate, I won't hunt any manatees, lets just check out the Jerk Fest.
Lendy: Ok that's fair, the Jerk Fest sounds way better than killing manatees so lets go to that.
Akiko: Daijobu, Jakufesuto wa sore ga arimasu!
Dylan: Remember folks, hunting vulnerable species like manatees is not cool.
* The Virginia Jerk Fest is a annual event held at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex where it features one of the largest Caribbean food and music festivals in the United States.
* Manatees actually have been sighted in Virginia Beach before: and
* The soccer shirts that both Lendy and Akiko have are FIFA World Cup shirts, with Lendy wearing the Greece shirt and Akiko wearing the Japan shirt.
* Matsu means wait in Japanese.
* Kaizoku Gai is the Japanese translation for Pirate Guy.
* Sate means Alright in Japanese.

Virginia Beach Comic Thirty One: Discovery at Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel

What's Up eeveryone, here is another Virginia Beach comic I have made. In this comic, Akiko is still on the boat at the Chesapeake Bay and she finds a baby seal on the rocks by the Bridge Tunnel, then Lendy shows up and tells Akiko that she can't take the seal to a vet. Here is the diaog below:
(Chesapeake Bay bridge Tunnel, between Virginia Beach and Cape Charls, VA)
Akiko: Wait, what is that over there? I better check it out because I have been on the boat for five hours now. Nanite Kotoda! This baby seal looks sick, I better take it somewhere quick dekirudake sumiyakani!
Lendy: What up Akiko!
Akiko: Oh its you goofy girl, now go away because I am taking this poor seal to a vet.
Lendy: OMG and LOL! You think a vet is going to take in a seal? I happen to be a veterinarian and we don't take seals, we take pets!
Seal: You tell her girl!
Akiko: Nani? This seal can talk, the seal is not even sick is it?
Dylan: Whoa Whoa Whoa Whoa! Really? Talking animals people? First a talking fish and now a talking seal? Alright, end this comic and lets get started on making one that actually make sense m'kay!
* The Seal in this comic is a Harbor Seal.
* Here is an informal site about the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel:
* Nanite Kotoda means Oh My God, Dekirudake Sumiyakani means As Soon As Possible and Nani means What all in Japanese.
And yes, a vet can only take pets (dogs, cats, etc.), not wild animals like a Harbor Seal.
* Akiko's explanation reaction is similar of what you can see in some manga and anime series.
* Yes, the next Virginia Beach comic will not feature a talking animal, I promise.
* When Dylan says M'kay at the end, it is a reference to Mr. Mackey on South Park.

Virginia Beach Comic Thirty: Is The Tide Really Low?

What's up everyone, here is another Virginia Beach I have done. In this comic, Joseph is still in the ocean and his friends Toby and Ralph leave the state park after hearing about a scary looking fish known as the Northern Stargazer being seen at the beach around town and Joseph was apparently sanding on one and the fish gets mad at Joseph for standing on it and Akiko eventually harpoons the Northern Stargazer as well as accidently breaking Josephs surfboard.
Here is the dialog below:
Joseph: Ralph, Toby come on in the water is fine and I am still betting the big wave will come soon.
Ralph: We don't think its fine anymore, in fact you should get out because there is some scary looking fish that's been appearing around Virginia Beach so beware dude!
Joseph: Aww come on! You guys chicken? Because there are freaking scary looking fish out there...Uh guys? Fine be that way guys, I'll attempt to surf on the low tides of Chesapeake Bay without you, even though I am standing on slippery ground right now. Wait a minute, the ground is slippery? I hope it's just a rock covered in algae.
Northern Stargazer Fish: You ain't standing on no algae covered rock, you're standing on an Northern Stargazer fish you punk!
Joseph: Wait I was standing on you and you're an ugly looking fish so that's just nasty, now beat it!
Northern Stargazer Fish: Don't you tell me to beat it! I'm going to bury you in the sand because this is my turf and I can do whateve I want!
Joseph: (fake sarcastic laugh)Ha Ha Ha Ha, very funny now if you'll excuse me, I am going to do some surfing.
(The Norther Stargazer Fish gets harpooned by Akiko and Joseph's surf board gets broken)
Akiko: Wai! I cought some dinner! Mister can you tell me what fish that is?
Joseph: Are you serious?! Who are you and why did you break my surfboard?!
Akiko: I said, can you tell me what fish is that so I can gut it and make sushi out of it.
Joseph: Uh this is a Northern Stargazer and this does not look edible for you to eat.
* The idea of this comic came from a news story where someone found a Norther Stargazer while walking at a beach in Virginia Beach. Here is a news story about the Northern Stargazer appearing in Virginia Beach in real life:
* Northern Stargazer fish bury themselves in sand, but not in the ocean it seems in real life.
* Wai is Japanese for Yay.
* Akiko is briefly seen having a Manga mouth expression when she cought the Northern Stargazer and breaking Josephs board.
* I wouldn't eat a Northern Stargazer if I were you because they can shock you if you touch them.

Virginia Beach Comic Twenty Nine: Low Tide

Alright folks, here is another Virginia Beach comic I have done. In this comic, Joseph and his friends Ralph and Toby go to First Landing State Park to try to surf, but Dylan tells Joseph that it's low tide at the state park, but Joseph doesn't listen.
Here is the dialog below:
Joseph: The waves are looking good so far.
Ralph: They are, but are we even allowed to surf here?
Joseph: Come on Ralph, Rules are for narks! Lets just surf already!
Dylan: Joseph, you and your buds go somewhere else to surf because it's low tide here.
Joseph: Oh hey dude, how come you and Lendy aren't surfing?
Dylan: Joseph did you not hear me? It's low tide here and your better off surfing somewhere else.
Joseph: What did you say dude? Because I couldn't hear you because I was getting in.
Dylan: Joseph what did I just say? The ocean... you know what forget it, you and your buds have fun attempting to surf on low tides Joseph and I'm sure you'll regret it.
* First Landing State Park is an actual recreational state park located in Virginia Beach.
* I am honestly not sure if you can really surf at First Landing State Park or not.

(Sandbridge Beach, Back in Virginia Beach, 3:30 PM)
Diana: Hey Lendy, What's Up?
Lendy: Hey guy's, I'm here to play volleyball with you and would it be alright if Dylan plays with us?
Diana: Of course he can join us! Oh by the way Dylan, this is Akiko just in case if you don't know her.
Akiko: Konichiwa
Diana: She just moved here from Japan and usually speaks Japanese most of the time, but she speaks English as well.
Akiko: Hai, yes I do
Dylan: Looks like we both have something in common already Akiko, I'm from Japan as well and...
Lendy: Play Ball!
(Lendy hits Akiko with the volleyball and brakes her nose and her glasses)
Akiko: Ahh You broke my glasses and my nose! Anata wa watashi no megane to watashi no hana o kowashimashita!
Diana: Lendy why did you do that for?!
Lendy: Well Diana, I thought that conversation was going on forever that it was time to play hit her in the face with the volleyball La La La La, La La, La La, La La La La La!
* The Norfolk Tides is a baseball team in Norfolk, VA.
* Harbor Park is where the Norfolk Tides play their home games.
* The comics title Baselleyball is a reference to the 1998 movie Baseketball, which stars South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
* Hai is Japanese for yes and Konichiwa is hello in Japanese. Anata wa watashi no megane to watashi no hana o kowashimashita! is the Japanese translation for You broke my glasses and my nose! as well.
